Here’s the thing—Penticton’s flooding with bike lanes, yet most folks I know barely (if ever) hop on their bikes. In Langley, they’re putting them everywhere, but the bike traffic? Virtually nonexistent.
I get it, infrastructure matters—build it, and maybe they’ll come. But is all this cost-benefit stuff actually worth it? Or are we just dreaming of a bike-friendly utopia?
Maybe it’s better in city centers. Or maybe it’s just a fancy lane to nowhere.
What’s your take? Would you bike more if it was easier, or nah?
Seem like a lot of chatter about bike lanes—are they worth the hype?
Let’s hear your thoughts!

![The SkyTrain Effect: Property Values and Neighborhood Chemistry
Ever notice how property values mysteriously climb when a SkyTrain line starts to appear? Turns out, it’s not magic — just city hall’s version of real estate Pokémon.
I had a chat with Tyson about how big infrastructure projects aren’t just big — they totally change neighborhoods overnight. Property values? Yep, they typically rise around transit hubs. But, spoiler alert: it’s not all smooth sailing.
Think noise, traffic, a neighborhood in flux. It’s short-term pain for long-term gain. Plus, if you bought near a future SkyTrain 20 years ago... well, now you’re kind of stuck with the noise, just like owning a house near the airport and then grumbling about airplanes.
Maybe that’s the point. Growth means shake-ups, right?
Worth thinking about.
